      Kari Motor Speedway set to host four-day racing extravaganza

      Racing aficionados in South India are in for a treat as the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, is set to host three events in the period of 28 – 31st August. This speedway, which has a length of 3.2 kilometres, is going to host the Indian National Drag Racing Championship (INDRC), Autocross and Drag Meet. Notably, the events Autocross and Drag Meets are going to be organised by Spitfire Motor Sports Pvt. Ltd from Coimbatore in association with Speedway Motor Sports from Hyderabad and LG Sports Ltd.

      These events are going to be held in accordance with the International Sporting Code of FIA and NCR of FMSCI. The ASN of FIA in India along with its appendices and Supplementary Regulations approved by FMSCI.

      The category of races will include India Cars up to 1150 cc, 1151 to 1450 cc, 1451 to 1650 cc, 1651 to 2050 cc, 2051 to 3000 cc and above 3001 cc. These capacities will take part under three larger race categories, namely Indian Classes (Showroom-Stock), Indian Classes (Street-Stock) and Indian Classes (Pro-Stock).

      Another category of cars featuring Forced Induction or Nitrous Classes will feature with either of supercharging or turbocharging allowed. The capacity ranges allowed in this class will be 1101 to 1400 cc, 1401 to 1600 cc, 1601 to 2000 cc, 2001 to 3000 cc and above 3001 cc.

      Diesel engine cars will also have a racing category with the first being the Pro Stock Diesel, featuring capacities up to 2300 cc, 2301 cc to 2800 cc and above 2800 cc. There will be other categories on offer in this much awaited race with one being there for foreign cars as well. In addition, bike races will also be organised here with different categories for Indian bikes and foreign bikes along, thereby classifying it quite simply.
