      Jaguar to launch new baby saloon by 2015

      Jaguar Land Rover, the British subsidiary of the Indian auto giant Tata Motors, is working on an all new baby saloon for the markets like India and China. The new Jaguar baby saloon will be sphere heading the company’s sales in the Asian as well as US market. The car will be manufactured in the Indian and JLR’s base market UK.

      The new Jaguar saloon will be launched in the global market by year 2015. The development of a range of front-drive cars by Jaguar looks in line with the stringent new Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) regulations, which are due to be implemented in the US market by year 2016.

      As per the recent media reports in the Indian market, the all new Jaguar baby saloon is expected to be carrying a length of 4.5 meter and would come powered by a 1.5 liter petrol and 1.8 and 2.0 turbocharged diesel engine. Moreover, the car is expected to be hosting highly advanced eight- and nine-speed automatic gearboxes.

      The new baby saloon is expected to be rolled-out in 3 to 4 model types including a hatchback, a roadster, a coupe and the mainstay four door models. The car will be competing with the likes of Audi A3 and Mercedes Benz A Class.
