Auto market in India is anxiously waiting for the news from Tata Motors and the West Bengal State government about company’s decision to continue its operations at its Singur plant in West Bengal. Uncertainty looms large over the Nano project in Singur as Tata Motors stopped its operations at the plant for nearly a month now. The opposition party refuses to bow down or retreat on its demand for 400 acres of land. Chairman of Tata Motors was scheduled to meet West Bengal officials on Sunday to discuss the outcome of Nano project in the State.

''The meeting between the state government and the Tata Motors officials will be held on September 28,'' Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb told reporters at the state secretariat. He declined to comment on the question as to who will represent the government in the meeting. Now the world awaits the outcome of the meeting amidst speculations about Tata pulling of the state due to continued agitation by Opposition party, Trinamool Congress that leads the demand from “unwilling” farmers.

Opposition has proposed to move the car plant to the opposite side of Durgapur Expressway which was declined by Tata Motors stating that the car plant and its ancillary units make an integrated part of the viability of the Nano project that promises to produce world’s cheapest car.
