Expressing his opinion on the sales figures, Mr Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing and Sales, HMIL said, “The general inflationary trend, high fuel prices, interest rates that are still high are keeping sentiment low. Unless any triggers get activated, sentiment is not expected to improve very much”. He seemed happy at the high growth rate of exports and remarked, “We are witnessing good volumes in South America and Africa. The Eon is being particularly well received in Africa and the i10 is strong in South America.”

Talking of the segment-wise aggregate sales in the half-yearly period of 2012, A2 segment (Eon, Santro, i10, i20) sold 44,046 units , A3 segment ( Accent and Verna) sold 10,182 units and the SUV segment (Santra Fe) sold a total of 39 units.
