The i20 hatchback from Hyundai was launched in a new avatar last year rechristened as the Elite i20. The hatchback instantly shot to fame and immensely contributed to impressive sales numbers for Hyundai in India. News has been doing rounds that the company may launch the anniversary edition soon to commemorate its successful one year of presence in India.
Hyundai India has not revealed details on the upcoming variant yet, but based on anticipation the new trim shall continue being powered with existing engine line-up. The special edition of Elite i20 shall continue being powered by 1.2-litre Kappa VTVT petrol engine that efficiently generates about 83 PS of power with 115 Nm of torque. Whereas, the diesel trim shall be powered by 1.4-litre U2 CRDi engine that is capable of generating about 90 Ps of power with 220 Nm of torque.
The Hyundai Elite i20 Anniversary Edition shall get fresh set of cosmetic upgrades with special edition badging and interesting features to render it a unique appeal. The vehicle currently gets interesting features like tilt and Telescopic steering wheel, audio and bluetooth controls on three spoke steering wheel, start stop button, auto folding outside rear view mirror (ORVM) and bluetooth connectivity options. As for safety, the hatchback gets ABS, Impact sensing door unlock, Dual airbags, Smart Pedal, touchscreen infotainment system, and much more.
The pricing aspect for the Anniversary edition of Elite i20 is unknown for now and it may be revealed soon. Loaded with interesting set of features and unique styling, the special edition is indeed worth an investment.
