      Honda to hike car prices by 3 per cent from January

      As all major automakers in the country have announced their decision to hike the car prices effectively from January 1, 2017, Japanese automaker Honda Motor has also announced its decision to hike prices by up to 3 per cent effectively from early next year. The hike will vary depending on the models and the variants. The company has justified the hike stating a rise in input cost and fluctuating exchange rates.

      Honda Accord

      The Japanese automaker Honda sells the Brio, Jazz, Amaze, Mobilio, City, BR-V, CR-V and the recently launched all new Accord Hybrid. The new Accord is sold in India via the CBU route from Thailand. The cars from Honda’s production line is well known for reliability and fuel efficiency. The company has around 328 sales and distribution network which are spread across 218 cities in the country.

      The list of other carmakers include Nissan, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Renault and Tata Motors who will be hiking car prices effectively from January, 2017. Owing to the recent demonetisation announcement in the country, all major automakers in the country have seen a drop in overall sales. Honda cars India has been no exception wherein the sales for November dropped to 8,029 units as against 14,712 units in the same period last year.
