      Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) plans on producing High-End Sports Bikes

      The 'Make In India' initiative kicked off by our current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seems to have a positive effect on Japanese auto giant Honda. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has also been working in setting up a new plant Gujarat at a cost of about Rs 1,100 Crore which shall be the biggest scooter production facility. The upcoming manufacturing facility will be capable enough to produce 1.2 million units every year.

      Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has also been considering producing powerful bikes from its Indian production facilities. Speaking more on the occasion at a recent event, Y S Guleria, Vice President, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) said, “We announce that (from) next year Honda will start making CBR -650 in India. By this, we will not only open up the skill of our existing manpower but it will also showcase the Honda India's manufacturing quality to the world.” To begin with, the company may start production of CBR 650 sports bikes at the domestic facility.

      The upcoming plant may have capacity of to generating about 3000 employment opportunities and shall be well known as the largest scooter manufacturing unit in the world. Looking it from a business perspective, the project is mutually beneficial for the company as well as the Indian economy.
