Honda Mobilio finally made its presence felt in the MUV segment on 23rd July. The much anticipated MUV has been launched in petrol as well as diesel variant. For wider buyer options the Honda Mobilio is available in a total of about four trims namely - E, S, V and RS. As per a recent update from company, Honda Mobilio has already received bookings for over 8500 units in the country and is increasing by each passing day. Honda has priced the based trim aggressively at Rs 6.49 lakh, while the high end version is available for Rs 9.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Mobilio MPV is stated to be based on extended Brio platform and carries a sharp and bold look. Honda Mobilio has been designed to carry a muscular stance and the seven seater MPV is offered with three row layout and as expected the third row is roomier. Honda’s first MPV has boastful dimensions- the vehicle is 4390 mm long, 1680 mm wide, 1610 mm tall, has a ground clearance of 189 mm and brags a large wheelbase of 2650 mm. Petrol range of Mobilio has been packed with a frugal 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 116 Bhp. Diesel variants on the other hand are housed with Honda’s efficient 1.5 litre i-DTEC powertrain that engenders a peak power output of 99 Bhp. Diesel powered Mobilio is claimed to deliver segment best fuel economy of 24.2 kmpl and petrol version returns an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 18.2 kmpl which is again impressive.

As per recent updates the 'RS' trim is expected to be launched sometime in September this year. The RS variant is likely to be positioned above the top end Mobilio variant and shall be powered by a similar 1.5 Liter engine. For the interiors, the RS is likely to be loaded with high end infotainment system, wood garnish and leather upholstery. The anticipated change would be cosmetic in nature and the vehicle is likely to carry headlamps with LED DRL's and bi-focal projectors. The front grill may sport two slats that shall be complimented with a bigger front bumper. An extra dose of chrome can be expected at the front and back.

The newly launched Mobilio MPV is stated to be based on ‘Man Maximum Machine Minimum’ Philosophy, and offers ample space to the passengers and also has aplenty boot space for storing luggage. Within days of its launch, Honda Mobilio has reportedly already received over 10,000 unit bookings. This indeed goes on to show how much the local masses had been eagerly waiting for an MPV from Honda's production line.
