      Honda Cars opens 200th dealership in India

      Honda Cars India seems aggressive with its sales and service network expansion plans in the country. The company has inaugurated its 200th dealership in India. This new dealership, Metro Honda, was inaugurated by Hironori Kanayama, president, Honda Cars India in Secunderabad.

      Honda is aiming to further enhance its dealership network in Metros as well as in semi-urban and rural regions. The company plans to add 100 new dealerships to current portfolio in the next 16 months. With the addition of new dealership, Honda now has 200 outlets in 130 cities across the nation. The Japanese automaker has managed to register an impressive growth of 43 per cent during the period April-October 2014.

      The company sold 1,01,442 units as against 70,831 units in the corresponding period last year. Adding to it, Honda is also aiming to launch new generation Jazz hatchback with diesel engine. By expanding the dealerships, the company is aiming to target maximum consumers all around the nation.

      “We are delighted to reach the milestone of 200 dealers in India. Network expansion is a critical part of our larger business goal of achieving sales of 300,000 units per annum by March 2017. As we expand our business in the Indian market, we have to move closer to our customers to be able to provide them with (the) best customer services at nationwide level.” said Kanayama.
