      Hero MotoCorp seems to be on a roll lately. The Indian bikemaker has planned an interesting line up of fast and economical bikes for the year 2014. A recent showcasing of its first diesel fuel type 150 cc motorcycle named RNT at an event in Delhi, projects the company's determination to be the market leader in the two wheeler segment. Pawan Munjal, Managing director and CEO of Hero Motocorp, said, “As we go ahead, we would like to add accessories, variants to the model. It will have usage in various countries besides India due to the kind of features it has. The hybrid scooter will have a range of around 340 km on one single charge and a full tank.”

      Newest of the lot and first 250 cc bike from Hero MotoCorp's production line is the HX 250R. The new sportsbike is powered by 249cc single-cylinder engine. The liquid cooled engine churns out a power of about 31PS with a torque output of about 26 Nm. The exhaust pipe has found its place underneath the saddle. The 139 kg bike has been mated to a six speed gearbox. From safety perspective the new bike features the combined braking system in place. For hardcore speed fanatics you might actually consider settling down with an ABS option. Higher positioned handlebars are reminiscent of the Hero MotoCorp Karizma model, such a postion is stated to deliver a comfortable ride over long journeys. The bike is blessed with LED lights for the headlamp, position lamp and tail lamp. Moreover, the Hero MotoCorp HX 250R rolls over 110/80 R-17 tubeless tire at the front and 140/70 R-17 tubeless at the rear, this ensures that the bike stays strongly footed at high speeds.

      Pawan Munjal said, “Ahead lies a very promising destiny. We want to become a global brand, which we cannot without a full range. A year ago I had promised a new range of technologically superior two-wheelers, we needed some time to go back to the drawing board.” Official launch date for the HX 250R has not been revealed yet. As per sources, the bike is expected to be launched sometime in 2015. For now, the bike has only been unveild to please Hero fans and it is expected to be placed in straight line of competition with the Honda's CBR 205R.
