This festive season turned out to be extremely special for two-wheeler auto giant, Hero MotoCorp as the company registered 2 lakh unit sales on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras taking a leap by 80 per cent in sales as compared to last year during Dhanteras.
Speaking about the company’s achievement, Mr. A. Srinivasu, head of national sales, Hero MotoCorp said that they had anticipated this kind of demand in this festive season and had already dispatched over six lakh vehicles to dealerships across the country. Dhanteras has traditionally been the day when the most number of two-wheelers are sold in India, and this year has been no different. Honda, the country-second largest two-wheeler manufacturer, also broke its previous year’s record by selling over 1.65 lakh two-wheelers on Dhanteras, though Hero MotoCorp has edged ahead in terms of sheer volumes.
The company few days ago inaugurated a new manufacturing unit in Neemrana, Rajasthan. A staggering investment of Rs 1050 crore was done on the construction of the new manufacturing plant. The company eyes expanding its production capacity to 100 million units by 2020. Besides the new manufacturing unit, the company has three other production facilities in the country. Over the last few years Hero Moto has come a long way, if the company keeps growing at this pace, it could reach zenith in two-wheeler segment globally.
