About 60,000 trucks have stayed off from Haryana roads owing to indefinite strike owing to non-issuance of fitness certificates by the Regional Transport Authority. The trucks are reportedly denied permissions owing to over-sized dimensions of the trucks. Owing to this strike about half of the dispatches from Dharuhera and Gurgaon have been affected to a great extent.

On an average, the company dispatches about 12,000 units in this off-season from the two plants. In a filing to the BSE the company said, “The transporters’ strike today has impacted the dispatches from our plants in Gurgaon and Dharuhera. We could dispatch only half of our average daily dispatches from these two plants today. We hope the authorities and the Automobile Carrier Welfare Association (ACWA) will be able to resolve the issue amicably at the earliest.”

The bike-maker has also hiked the prices of its offering in India owing to withdrawal of excise duty concessions. The prices have been hiked by about Rs. 900 to Rs. 3,700 on top end bikes. The company is reportedly trying to make alternative arrangements that can minimize further impact.
