A Taiwanese company has now changed the basis of electric scooter in the two-wheeler industry. Most of the fans have a conception that a charging socket is required to power an electric scooter. Almost all such electric variants require such an arrangement. However, this Taiwanese company has changed the concept of electric scooters.

At the Consumer Electric Show, a brand new electric scooter with the name of Gogoro smart scooter has been unveiled. The futuristic design elements have given it such a cutting edge that it can easily win the best looking electric scooter award. However, there is something else that sets it apart from the rest. Instead of plugging it in for charging the battery, the scooter is riding on batteries, which will be swapped at GoStations. Incidentally, the company will launch a string of Gogoro Energy Network in those cities where the scooter will be launched.

The Gogoro Scooter churns out a power of 8.6 bhp and a torque of 24 Nm, which runs on a liquid-cooled magnet synchronous mill. The company claims a top speed of 96 kilometres per hour and a maximum range of 100 kilometres. Panasonic has provided the batteries and are placed underneath the seats. It can be easily removed and placed with the help of a green handle. The battery has a power to identify the user and also stores information diagnostics about the scooter. The batteries have been provided with 25 sensors, NFC connectivity as well as 256-bit security encryption.

Users are able to swap their discharged batteries with completely charged ones at GoStation and the company has said that it would take six seconds to complete the process. It would take 10 minutes to book the batteries in advance using the application. The company has not yet said anything about the price of the scooter, but it will not come that cheap.
