Ford India has decided to export Auto Expo, January 2012. While launching 45 new outlets, Boneham said that the increase in dealership network is not only for the launch of its EcoSport but also for global products. He informed that since the time Figo was launched, the company had been opening one showroom in every 10 days. Figo is a global car made by Indian engineers and has received wonderful response worldwide.

However, expressing his concern over government's latest proposal of levying more taxes on diesel powered vehicles; Boneham said that there has been a lot of debate regarding this. He further added that SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) also thinks that it is not the right approach.

He said, "Already the industry is struggling here and we would not want something that will allow automobile industry which provides employment opportunities to suffer.” He added that Ford India grew by 15 per cent last year but the company has lowered its growth expectations to 10 per cent owing to hurdles like high interest rates and increased fuel prices.

Regarding the future plans of Ford in India, Boneham said, "As we have already announced our plans to introduce eight new products by middle of this decade, having 230 outlets across 123 cities demonstrates Ford Motor Company's commitment to India."
