Nicolas Cage has once again set the screen on fire, quite literally, by reprising his role as Johnny Blaze in the second Ghost Rider film. The movie has been released worldwide on 17th February 2012, with experts predicting weekend collections of around $ 25-35 million dollars at the box office.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is the sequel to the 2007 film on the titular character, an antihero who has been given supernatural powers by devil Mephisto. His trademark flaming motorcycle, which turns into the Hell Cycle when Blaze turns into the eponymous character, is again seen in the supernatural-action thriller.

In the first movie, bike manufacturer Buell had used solid tyres that were aflame to ensure that the film remained true to the comic book. The motorcycle used by Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance had earlier been shown at the San Diego Comic Con, attracting many fans of the franchise.

The film should please those who adore Nicholas Cage as well as the fans of Ghost Rider comics, which have enjoyed popularity since the 1970s. The director has shot the movie in 3D format to lure younger audience to the Ghost Rider mythos. It remains to be seen whether production house Sony Pictures would go for another Ghost Rider film, though the success of the second film may tilt the scales in the favour of the third movie.
