      FMSCI honours Motorsport Achievers in the Country

      Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) honoured the Indian motorsport achievers during its award ceremony, which was held in Bangalore. During the event, a total of 54 champions, spanning nine different categories were felicitated during the event. All these winners were applauded for their extraordinary achievements sometime in the recent past. Vijay Mallya, the team principal of Sahara Force India, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. This was mainly due to his contribution to the event of motorsport. He was honoured for putting India on the global map by making a name for the Sahara Force India Formula I Team.

      C S Santosh was awarded the trophy of Motorsport Man of the Year, with the Raymond Gautam Singhania Rolling Trophy. This was due to his participation as well as gritty performance in the first-ever organised Dakar Rally. He was also awarded with a cash prize of two lakhs rupees. The third award was presented to Arjun Maini, with the Motorsport Star of the Future. This was because of his exceptional performance during the BRDC F4 as well as on course of European F3 races.

      R Bharath Raj, the President of FMSCI said, “We are happy and proud to be giving away these awards to the 2014 champions in Bangalore. We hope these champions go to international events and keep the Indian flag flying high. Motorsport activity is on the rise in India. We hope to get many other international events in India and also hope that the sport grows even more in the future.”
