A test mule of the Ford Figofacelift has been spotted in yellow body colour once again in Chennai. By the look of the model, this car will look more aggressive and have raked-back headlights with a tapered end which will give the front fascia an all-new look. Spy shots suggested that the model's turn blinkers will be placed below the headlamps this time, similar to the new edition of Fiesta mid-sized sedan. The front bumpers have also been modified and boast of a refreshed fog-lamp cluster design. There are rumours that the car's headlamp cluster will also receive new clear-lens covers as well as a new grille. On the other hand, the rear of this popular premium hatchback will have just the tweaked tail lamps.

Reportedly, the top end Titanium variant of the new Ford Figowill receive the maximum number of changes in terms of equipments and systems. Keyless entry and start/stop button (in the place of the 12V socket) are expected to be assimilated in the facelifted Figo. The position of the push button starter is rather odd, as it is present next to the gear stick instead of the dashboard; competing models like Nissan Micra, Renault Pulse and new Hyundai i20also have the start/stop functionality. Though the American car maker is not expected to introduce a new engine, it will probably fine tune the powertrain in order to increase its efficiency levels.

With the inclusion of these features, the car is expected to be priced approximately Rs. 30,000 than the existing model. It is anticipated that the model will arrive in India around the festive season, most probably by Diwali 2012 in order to attract buyers who want to purchase a family car during an auspicious time. Maruti will also roll out the facelifted version of its Ritz hatchback during that period too. Based on the MK5 Fiesta, the Ford Figo received minor tweaks earlier in 2012 as well, when it was integrated with features like adjustable steering and USB-enabled music system.
