With the aim to raise its volumes and make its presence count in one of the fastest growing auto markets in world, the Italian auto maker has decided to launch a cheaper version of its Monster sportsbike. Being given the name ‘795’, the new Monster is expected to undergo changes in its contours and size, in order to bring the costs down. The L twin engine of the existing 796 model will get a new outlook along with incorporation of a few less rich components to keep the price in between the set range.

The single-sided swing-arm carried by 796 can expect a replacement, with a regulation double sided swing-arm unit. The power and torque output of the engine is also expected to be slightly lowered. However, the aspect that would contribute majorly in producing the intended product is the company’s newly set up plant in Thailand, which would serve the superbikes to the whole of Asia.

It is important to note that the new plant will serve the purpose of assembly only. The components utilised in the bikes assembled in Thailand will be shipped in through various global manufacturing points.

The price tag for the Ducati Monster 795 is expected to be a little over Rs.5 lacs mark. While the design and other details about the bike are yet to be unwrapped, the brand itself is enough to act as a mass puller.
