As the news of Honda coming up with a new successor of its NSX broke out, anticipations regarding the kind of design and power it will possess, became the talk of the town. However, before people could actually contemplate over the ins and outs of the car, Honda President Takanobu Ito confirmed the assemblies of the future NSX. He said that the car would not be affixed with a V10 engine. It is important to note that the decision to use an engine of that size was made null in 2008, as the company planned to build the car that suits the environment, while offering an impactful ride.

If reports are to be believed, the upcoming Honda NSX will be backed by the power of a 3.5-litre V6 engine, producing upwards of 402 hp. In addition, speculations are rife that a patent application has already been made by Honda for the engine. Therefore, the initial information regarding the NSX speaks volume for the other high-end features it will carry. However, the car must stick to its policies of being lighting weight. But the car is also said to be powered with the help of an electric motor.

As reported, the car’s drive system has not come as a surprise, with the new NSX using the Hondas proven four-wheel drive SH-AWD system. Engineers will be the forerunners of the Accord platform in the development of a mid-wheel-drive chassis, to ensure low research and development costs.

The SH-AWD system accompanies the front-rear torque distribution control with separately controlled torque distribution to the left and right rear wheels. Such a system would ensure the unrestricted distribution of optimum amount of torque to all four wheels in coordination with the road and driving conditions.
