Skodahas lifted covers off its Yeti - Xtreme concept rally car underpinning the compact SUV, however the vehicle will be officially unveiled before the auto enthusiasts across the world at the upcoming 2014 GTI grandiose event to be held at Worthersee. Along with Yeti-Xtreme, Skoda will also put on display CitiJet at the upcoming event.
The designers at Skoda have worked closely on shaping their popular compact SUV, Yeti into a sporty rally design. Yeti-Xtreme is an impeccable amalgamation of a four-wh eel drive SUV featuring rally car equipment and design. A robust 1.8 litre TSI engine belting out a top power and torque output of 150 Bhp and 250 Nm respectively. The powerful motor enables the vehicle to rush to 100 kmph from standstill within 9 second and attains a top speed of 192 Kmph. A six-speed dual clutch gearbox will be coupled to the 1.8 litre TSI motor. Skoda will also embed Octavia RS brakes inside the Yeti-Xtreme.
Rendering a muscular semblance to the vehicle are a pair of 17 inch alloy wheels and huge off road tyres. Outer appearance is enhanced by the wheel rim inserts set off in vivid yellow-green colour and tinted side windows. Front fascia gets a sturdy bumper; large air-intake and LED head lamps.
Inside the cabin, there is an option of seating four individual Recaro sports seats that come affixed with four-point safety belts. Equipment embedded inside the cabin comprise of ‘Super Sport’ steering wheel with integrated gearshift paddles. Interior door covers made from carbon fibre will also be featured in the vehicle. Skoda has befitted an additional sand shovel and a thermos flask into holder affixed in the panelling. Skoda has completely redesigned the centre console and Yet-Xtreme gets standard rally car accessories including a belt cutter and a fire extinguisher. Skoda has also provided aniPadcradle on the dashboard and a first aid kit on the glove box.
Skoda CitiJet which will also be exhibited at the grand event along with Yeti-Extreme is a cabriolet conceived on the Citigo hatchback. The vehicle flaunts a distinguished metallic finish in blue and white, 16 inch alloy wheels have been affixed on the wheel arches rendering a polished look to the exterior front. Besides the above mentioned features a handmade rear spoiler and a robust exhaust with two tailpipes have also been equipped. Inside the cabin, a 300 W sound system and music-reactive blue LED interior lighting have also been bestowed. Under the hood, there is a 1.0 litre MPI gasoline engine that yields a top power output of 75 PS.
