Hyundai is readying to launch 2014 Solaris sedan (sold as Verna in many other automotive industries) in Russia in the upcoming months. Speculations are rife that Hyundai has already completed trial production of the tweaked Solaris and is ready with the first batch of cars.

The latest development from Hyundai for the Russian auto market has left auto aficionados in India mulling over the possibility of tweaked Verna coming to the Indian shores. Since its last major upgrade three years ago in 2011, Hyundai has not given any comprehensivefaceliftto the model, or rather it wasn’t required as much as it is needed now. Launch of new Honda City in January has snatched Verna’s sales, outnumbering the latter in monthly sales ever since its launch in India. Tweaked Verna is already on sale in Chinese auto market and Russian market will soon get the upgraded version, therefore chances are thick that Hyundai could bring forth renewed Verna to the domestic market to improve sales. However, the company is yet to put forward its take on the new Verna launch in India, but rumour mills are humming a different story.

The Russia-spec model will not vary much from the China bound Verna. On the exterior front, Russia-spec Verna could get a project head light with integrated daytime running LEDs, a redesigned chrome grille in the front, reworked bumpers and new fog lamps in front and rear bumper. Insignificant changes are expected to be done inside the cabin, among the new additions, a new audio system and leather trims could be equipped. Mechanically Hyundai is expected to retain the current engine set-up and transmission.
