The Delhi traffic police are all set to implement new parking restriction in the central Delhi ahead of India – West Indies test series, which is scheduled to take place at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium situated at the Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. This includes a number of parking restrictions in and around the stadium from Sunday onwards. There will be no parking for the general vehicle in the proximity of the stadium during the test match.

While further informing on the matter, joint commissioner of police (traffic) Satyendra Garg, said in a statement given recently, "While there is very limited parking for labelled vehicles in the proximity of the stadium, no parking is available for general vehicles in the proximity of the stadium."

This means, no vehicle shall be allowed to be parked at both carriageways of Jawaharlal Nehru Marg and Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. Mr. Garg added that vehicles parked on these roads shall be towed away and action will be taken as per law. The traffic police have advised the car parking label holder to take Ring Road, JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road or Bahadurshah Zafar Marg.

For the spectators, the car parking facility has been created at the Mata Sundari parking and Shanti Van parking. As per a statement given by a senior traffic cop to TOI, "Audience coming in their vehicles can either avail 'Park & Ride' facility or walk down to the stadium after reaching these sites. At the conclusion of match, they are advised to reach park and places through shuttle service or by walking down."
