All speculations surrounding the new Honda City are somewhat turning realistic. The ingenious strategy of Japanese auto giant has made its car the new hype of domestic auto market. Prospective buyers are peering on the launch of this premium sedan, which will be officially launched on 7th January 2014. Autocar has divulged that the company dealers are taking priority bookings of fourth generation Honda City for an amount of Rs. 51,000. Interestingly, the amount is refundable in case customers tend to go for another car.

The next generation Honda City will be equipped with a diesel option for the first time ever. It will be incorporated with a 1.5-litre iDTEC engine, the same which is under the hood of Honda Amaze. Along with, the iconic 1.5-litre petrol mill will also be carried in the new model. The “Earth Dream” diesel technology of Honda has performed efficiently in Amaze and is expected to provide the same figures in the new car as well. The auto maker is delighted with the success of its new technology and ensures to keep its vast fan base content in the future too.

Sources have surmised that current generation models of Honda City have been out of stock. Experts largely believe that the so called priority booking by the company is an astute marketing policy which will create the adequate buzz needed to launch this car. It was widely expected that the new Honda City will be reviving similar circumstances which once hovered during the launch of Ford EcoSport. Notably, the latter was anticipated to be launched in early 2012, but it finally arrived in mid-2013. Consequences were a swamp of pre-bookings of the car across all its dealership. With a waiting period of 3-5 months, this compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) kept generating buzzes constantly. Recently, Ford declared to cease bookings of this car as the company was unable to meet with high demand.

A similar trend is expected after the launch of fourth generation Honda City. Rumour mill is generating news that this car will experience a waiting period of up to 2 months before the final delivery. However, this sedan would not lose its charm unlike Ford EcoSport as it happens to be a sole car launched in the sedan segment off late. Also, all its rivals from Hyundai Verna to Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid have been residing in the auto market for a decent time. The car will be freshly arriving with a diesel engine technology, which has been extolled globally for its invincible feats.

The legendary car maker considers its iconic sedan to be a game changer in upcoming time. Auto experts are betting big on Honda City and are of a view that this car will redefine its segment. Honda City has already accomplished a lot since it first incepted India a decade ago. It was once the indomitable car in sedan segment and once again, it will strive to attain the top spot.
