The market for 150 cc bikes, or capacities thereabout, is quite huge and full of competition in a country like India. There are quite a few rivals in this segment, such as Bajaj Pulsar 150, TVS Apache RTR 160 and Yamaha FZ-S. Though Bajaj Pulsar 150 leads the segment, the competition between the other two is quite intense. Let’s take a look at how these bikes square off against each other and which one, if at all, performs better.

Starting with Yamaha FZ-S, this bike has a pretty stylish appearance that is wholly muscular and chiselled out, thereby can be aptly described as ‘MACHO’. The colour, design and the styling of this product has been made entirely on European lines, which gives it an international appeal. Not only is it right up there in terms of looks, the body of this bike is stylishly designed, it scores quite high on aerodynamics as well. All in all, the muscular and aerodynamic style of this bike is quite appealing and strikes a chord with any onlooker.

The other highlights of this bike include monocross suspension for better handling, midship muffler for excellent exhaust efficiency, wide radial tyre that provides excellent gripping, new graphics, chiselled fuel tank, trendy meter console, long fender and a comfortable seat. Yamaha FZ-S is powered by a 153 cc air cooled 4 stroke engine that churns out an output of around 13 bhp along with maximum torque of 13.6 Nm.

TVS Apache RTR 160 has been present in the market for quite some time and without performing extraordinarily well. Immediately as one takes a look at Apache RTR 160, the first word that comes to mind is stylish due to its sharp edges and beautifully sculpted body. The appearance of this bike features roto petal disc brakes, muscled tank, muscled engine cowl and muscled tail cowl along with beast inspired headlamps. This model is powered by a 159.7 cc engine that develops around 15.2 bhp of power and 13.1 Nm of torque.

Looking at things objectively, there is little to choose between these two bikes but the Apache RTR 160 just edges the entire package if everything is included, be it power or style.
