Chevrolet Cruze is ready to take on the roads. General Motors has just revealed the next generation Chevrolet model, which is expected to reach the Indian showrooms within a year. The automobile manufacturer has told that the new model will be unveiled on the 24th of June, 2015. The American manufacturer has teased its global audience with a view of the interior and a glimpse of its all-new infotainment system – MyLink, a multifunction steering wheel with an engine start and stop function.
The best part about the new infotainment system in the 2016 edition of the Chevrolet Cruze is that it is compatible with both, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Located at the centre console, this new system allows the integration of the phone with smart applications.
The new model was initially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in 2014 and has been modelled on the Chevrolet Tru 140S Concept, which is a sporty coupe that made its first appearance at the Detroit Auto Show in 2012.
Mechanistically, the new Cruze has been powered with the new Ecotec mill and will ideally replace three different General Motors engine, which are available globally. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, a six-speed automatic as well as a new seven-speed dual-clutch setup, power is uniformly and seamlessly transferred to the wheels for a smoother driving experience. The updated powertrains are expected to boost the fuel economy from 14 to 21 per cent.
