      Car festival of the Lord Dharbaranyeswara Swamy temple witnessed presence of thousand of devotees

      Hundreds of devotees present at Tirunallar of Karaikal district watched the Lord Dharbaranyeswara Swamy temple's car festival. The presiding deity of the temple, ‘Shenbaka Thyagaraja Swamigal', was placed in the big car while other deity, 'Ambal' was placed in the small car. All the important streets and roads were covered during the whole course of procession with both cars in lead. Various senior officials including J. Ashok, who is the District Collector, were present in the festival.

      In connection with this festival, strict security arrangements were made. 31st May was declared as a local holiday being the day of the procession. On 30th May, Maha Deeparadhana was been performed after placing both the deities on 'Rishaba Vahanam'.

      This will be followed by a procession of the deity, ‘Lord Saneeswara' on the Golden Crow mount on 1st June 2012. With the float festival on 4th June, the Brahmorchavam, which started on May 17, will finally conclude.
