The BMW X5 M and X6 M line-up has been expanded with the addition of new special edition variants called Black Fire. A slew of subtle visual upgrades and a unique metallic black paint job give these models a sinister look.
While there isn’t any change in styling, the X5 M and X6 M Black Fire get an exterior package to set them apart from the regular models. The kidney grille features black slats, while the 21-inch forged alloy wheels are also painted in black. The mirror caps get carbon fibre finish. Inside, the seats are wrapped in black fine-grain Merino leather with red accents. The dashboard gets a piano black finish with ‘Black Fire’ badges.
There aren’t any mechanical changes. The X5 M and X6 M Black Fire continue to get the 4.4-litre V8 engine delivering 575bhp and 750Nm of torque. Power is fed to all four wheels through an eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox. These UVs can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in just 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250kmph. The X5 M and X6 M Black Fire will go on sale in Europe in August.
