The new BMW 3 Series is scheduled to be launched on 27 July 2012 in India. However, the stocks of the current 3 series have not been cleared yet. To do away with the remaining cars in the older model in this segment, BMW has decided to offer special discounted prices to its customers. The amount of discount can be as high as Rs 7 lacs.

The base Corporate Edition of 320d which runs on diesel is supposedly being tagged with a discount of Rs. 6 lacs on the original price. Similarly, the high-end dynamic model will require customers to cough up Rs 3-5 lacs less than the original price. The petrol-powered 330i will be available at a huge discount of Rs 6-7 lacs. It is true that the company is trying to clear old stocks; however, there are not many units of the 330i left. Chevrolet did the same when they launched the new face-lifted version of the SUV Captiva. A discount of Rs. 2 lacs was offered on the previous stock.

The new BMW 3 series F30, which was launched in Europe on 14 October 2011, is finally going to be on sale in India. There are quite a few differences between the currently available 3 series (E90) and the one slated to arrive later this month (F30). In the new version, there is more comfort in the rear seats; the legroom and headroom have been dedicatedly taken care of as well.

The length of the car has been increased but the weight has been reduced by 40 kgs, adding to the convenience. The F30 looks more muscular as compared to the lean E90 while the rear of the F30 looks more sophisticated than the E90. The fresh version is tad more powerful than the older one with some extra features incorporated inside the car.

The 3 series is also expected to borrow certain characteristics from the 5 series. The price has not been declared yet. However it is being speculated that it will be set in competition with the Mercedes C-Class 250 CDI and the Audi A4.

With these changes in the latest offering, BMW seeks to clear off its older stocks to make way for the new improved version. Huge discounts on the prices, at the same time, give customers an attraction that is hard to resist. It now depends on the customers whether they would wait and spend the extra money to get the best or cut a deal to bring a BMW home soon.
