Luxury car maker Bentley Motors Limited recently shared the fact that it has achieved a 31 percent increase in the global sales. The British firm claims to have sold 4,016 cars all over the world from January to August this year. Moreover, Bentley conveyed that it firmly believes that the growth rate would not stagnate as it believes to attain an overall sales increase of about 40 percent for 2011. The news regarding the rise came straight from the horse's mouth during the premiere of its new Continental GTC convertible at the International Automobile Exhibition in Frankfurt.

The company, which possesses a workforce of under 4,000 people at its Pyms Lane headquarters, communicated that for the first time in the history of Bentley Motors Limited, more than a thousand Bentleys were sold-off in the Chinese region before the end of August. The achievement marks an increase of 67 percent from last year sales figures in China. But the U.S. continues to dominate the other regions by holding the title of the firm's biggest market. Till August Bentley sold 1,195 cars across America, which ascents the sales by 36 percent compared to the same period in 2010. As far as the European sales are concerned, the staggering performance continued to keep up the trend by rising 35 percent.

Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive said that, "It is an incredibly exciting time for Bentley. We have a strong new model line-up driving an increasing global interest in the brand. The new Continental GTC, which we officially reveal today, has already been previewed to some customers and their response has been extremely positive. With this, and other new models still in the pipeline, I am confident we can sustain this strong sales performance."

Talking about the new car, the car maker confirmed that the latest version i.e. Continental GTC convertible carries a more "muscular" appeal than the original Continental GTC, which was launched in 2006.

Bentley said in a statement that its arrival provides "a solid foundation for future growth expectatios". The model is expected to carry a price tag of £1,49,350 and  its booking has already been opened. However, the deliveries would begin in the slog months of 2011.

The recent figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that Bentley's UK sales have swelled up by more than 40 percent last month. The firm managed to sell 36 cars in August, which is an ascent of 44 percent against the 25 cars that were sold during the same month last year. So far this year, the car maker has sold-off 716 cars in the UK which is a hike of 7.7 percent compared with 665 units that were sold during the same period in 2010.

Thus, Bentley Motors Limited is on a ride of a lifetime and hopes to continue with the same pace, at which things are going at present.
