If everything goes right, North America will be welcoming the all-new Ford Fiesta ST, a performance model of the subcompact car Fiesta. However, the condition that has been applied to actually get the move in place, is that, Ford Motor Co. would start with the venture if it observes a demand that would satiate the production process to flag-off. Ford has cashed in on the Frankfurt auto show to unveil the concept of the Fiesta ST, which is one of four global debuts for the giant automaker.
Along with Fiesta ST, Ford also is blowing the covers of its production version of the Focus ST, which would be all set to go on sale in the U.S. next year. Ford has in store, plethora of products like a track-ready Focus ST-R, a Focus with a fuel-sipping 1-litre engine, the Ford Evos design concept car and a Formula Ford open-wheel race car.
Ford is believed to have been working constantly in order to expand its production of performance cars. The strategy aims at development of new vehicles that can be sold at the global level with minimum duplication of effort and cost.
Derrick Kuzak, Head of global product development said that "The Fiesta has a rich history of high-performance models, so a new ST performance model is a logical next step in our performance vehicle strategy for our global small cars,". We can do it now because we are no longer solely dependent on Europe volume to make them possible."
“If each and every region of North America brings out enough potential sales volume to make a good business case, Ford will greenlight production of a global Fiesta ST”, said Jost Capito, Head of global performance vehicles. He added that “Ford cannot wait to see how well the Focus ST sells to make a decision on the Fiesta ST.”
The that pulled Ford to the Frankfurt Motor show was that the car maker wished to start with a teaser of the new concept for the consumers, while showing its dedication and interest in production of performance cars that are more than just another version of the original.
Thus, Ford has put in a lot of effort to be known not just for the quantity but also for the quality, it capable of producing.
