      Bajaj Auto regains second position in the Indian two-wheeler market

      With reporting a marginal rise of 4 percent in its sales during the month of April 2012, the leading bike maker Bajaj Auto has managed to regain its second spot in the Indian two-wheeler market. The company sold a total of 3,81,590 units of its vehicles in the country during this month, as compared to 367,309 units sold in the same month last year. It is to be mentioned here that Honda Motorcycles had snatched the second largest two-wheeler makers spot from Bajaj Auto in the Month of March’12.

      Speaking on the company’s performance during the month, Mr. K Srinivas, Bajaj Auto president for motorcycle business, said, "We will continue with our focused approach as a motorcycle specialist. This is what has enabled us to become the second largest bike maker in the domestic market and the third largest in the world. We will also continue to be the most profitable motorcycle manufacturer in the world."

      The company registered a 6 percent rise in the sales of its bikes to 3,42,324 units during this month. On the other hand, the sales of commercial vehicle sales of the firm fell 13% to 39,266 units. The exports of the company saw a 7 percent rise during this month to 1,69,010 units as compared to 1,58,422 units dispatched to the overseas markets in April’11.
