The government of India is mulling over the option of allocating new place for the international exhibitions in the South West Delhi (near Dwarka), as the existing exhibition centre at Pragati Maidan has reached its saturation point with number of visitors is surging year on year. The discussion was ignited after the mismanagement at the recently held International Auto Expo in the National Capital, leaving a number of international exhibitors angry and irritated.

While speaking to the reporters on the last day of Delhi International Auto Expo, Union Minister Kamal Nath said, "We are looking at venues in Dwarka and we are talking to international exhibitors who got skills for an exhibition centre of international standards." He added, "It is true because we have limited exhibition centers and many exhibitors also come there and the number of common people who visit is also increasing each year."

While further elaborating the significance and requirement of the new venue, Mr. Nath said that today there is no area which can claim to be centre of Delhi. Those who say that they live in Dwarka or East Delhi also can claim that they live in the heart of Delhi.

The organizers of this year auto Expo had starched the capacity of Pragati Maidan to accommodate the ever increasing number of exhibitors and visitors. Still, the space looked quite congested.
