German car maker Audi has gone ahead to unveil the all-new 2.0-litre powertrain at the motor symposium in Austrian capital Vienna. This 2.0-litre TFSI engine is being touted by the manufacturer as the “most efficient two-litre petrol engine in its class” and it is likely to be fitted in the new version of Audi A4, which will be launched late in the year 2015.

This new 1984 cc four-cylinder engine is turbocharged and is capable of delivering a power level of 190 BHP and maximum torque of 320 Nm. Incredibly, this engine can reach its peak torque level at just 1450 RPM.

According to the manufacturer, this engine is highly efficient and much better than the one it will be replacing. The main reason for the efficiency of this engine is its new combustion method that is similar to the Miller cycle capable of working with multiple engine types. Furthermore, the consumption levels for this car are lower than 5.0-litre per 100 km, which is excellent and could propel it to huge success.

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, an esteemed member of Audi’s Board of Management for Technical Development, expressed his views regarding the symposium and the firm’s endeavour to develop better technology. “The Vienna Motor Symposium is an excellent forum for Audi as a leading technology brand. Specifically in the drive area we have been taking pioneering solutions into production for many years now — first the TDI, then the TFSI, and latterly our electrified concepts. The specialist congress in Vienna gives us the opportunity to present them to international experts,” he was quoted as saying.
