      Audi A3 launching tomorrow in India

      Unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year at Greater NOida, Audi India’s first ever entry-level sedan A3 is all set to go on sale. Bookings for the sedan began from August 1st at authorized Audi dealers spread across the country at a token amount of Rs 3.5 lakh. Audi will launch A3 saloon at a grand event in New Delhi tomorrow. Production began a while ago at the company’s manufacturing facility located in Aurangabad. Driving past other luxury auto cos, BMW and Mercedes Benz, Audi is currently enjoying being at the top spot in luxury car segment in domestic market.

      Induction of a new entry level sedan, A3 is expected to further fuel sales of the auto maker as this would be first vehicle from Audi falling in this price bracket. A hypothetical price ranging between Rs 25 lakh to Rs 30 lakh is being speculated for the saloon. Though, BMW and Mercedes Benz also offer competitively priced cars in India, however with A3, Audi will also induct a new segment in India-entry level sedan segment. In India, the saloon will compete with Mercedes’ CLA Class which is yet has not been launched in India and is expected to be spawned by 2015.

      Audi India will launch A3 in both petrol and diesel guise, the petrol variants will be powered by the 1.8 litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops a peak power of 180 Bhp and a top torque of 250 Nm. Diesel range of A3 on the other hand will get a 2.0 litre powertrain outputting 143 Bhp of maximum power and 320 Nm of top torque. A S-tronic, seven-speed gearbox will be mated to both the engines.
