All new Skoda Superb expected to arrive Indian market by February

Czech auto major, Skoda was at par with elation for its new generation Octavia and ended 2013 on a good note. Keeping its spirit alive for the new year, the car maker continues its rampage to astonish Indian auto aficionados. Speculations are rife that the revamped model of Skoda Superb will be arriving the domestic market in February. Seemingly, the company is leaving no stone unturned to capture the top spot of premium sedan segment with its latest creation. Skoda Superb underwent surgeons knife a few months back as the company decided to refurbish it in accordance with modern day requirements. It is now all ready with flamboyant outlooks and technically advanced features at interiors.

Primarily, the front grille of the all new Skoda Superb is believed to be revised, along with the company's logo mounted over the chrome strip. It also features upgraded bumpers and new fenders enhancing the looks of this new sedan. Also, front bonnet has been revised and sources claim that it looks similar to the new-generation Skoda Octavia. LED's are lumped on headlamps for daytime running and same has been done on rear lights. Rear bonnet is believed to be more sleek, corresponding to a typical Audi layout. Interestingly, the registration plate on the back has also been moved to the boot lid.

At interiors, the car will bear minor tweaks to make it look snazzy. Rumours earlier suggested that steering of new Skoda Superb will have multi spokes as compared to its ongoing version. Also steering mounted consoles will be a standard feature for all models. It is also anticipated that wheels of this car will have a new multi-spoke alloys and upgraded tyres for a comfortable driving experience. Suspension might also be upgraded to completely engulf unsteady roads and potholes during city ride. New Skoda Superb is expected to carry options of same engine capacity of 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel. In the ongoing version, these variants produce efficient power outputs, making the car blister on tracks in full throttle. Interestingly, the auto maker is planning to retune these variants that would ultimately mean development of more power and hence, a more agile drive.

After its launch, this car is expected to face stiff rivalry from Volkswagen Jetta, Hyundai Sonata, Volkswagen Passat and the upcoming Honda Accord. Experts believe that prior to getting revamped, Skoda Superb witnessed moderate sales in the Indian market. With the launch of a new model, the company would strive to inflate its presence. It is also of a view that this car is certain to have upcoming Honda Accord as a strong adversary. While the former has been available in both fuel types, latter is expected to arrive for the first time in a diesel avatar and will certainly attempt to achieve the same feats which Skoda Superb aims to accomplish. Models like Volkswagen Passat and Hyundai Sonata are still creating their identity among prospective buyers and it will be really compelling to see how Skoda dodges such competition and endeavours to define its glory in premium sedan segment.
