Mahindra XUV 500, one of the most popular Sports Utility Vehicles in the Indian auto market, has registered a massive booking figure of 25,000 units in the second phase of bookings opened by the company. It is to be mentioned here that Mahindra & Mahindra had reopened the bookings of XUV 500 for 10 days from 25th January to 3rd February, after suspending the bookings in the month of October 2011. The SUV will be delivered to the customers through a Mahindra XUV 500 draw, validated by the professional services firm, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd.
The company was forced to suspend the bookings of the car in the first phase after the production of about four month was sold within a few days of opening of bookings. The company has received about 8,000 bookings for the SUV in the first phase.
This time around a number of new cities were included for booking of Mahindra XUV 500 and in total about 19 cities of the country that comprises of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chandigarh / Panchkula, Ludhiana, Jallandhar, Patiala, Kochi, Trivandrum, Calicut, Trissur, Coimbatore, Nagpur and Nasik.
With huge demand in the Indian market, the company is now looking forward to increase the overall manufacturing capacity to 3000 units a month as compared to the current capacity of 2,500 units.
