Volvo, the Swedish luxury car manufacturer, is gearing up for the launch of highly rated 2015 Volvo XC90 in the Indian car market. Globally premiered at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October, the all-new XC90 SUV has already been listed on the company’s official India’s website. Few dealers have already started taking bookings for the car, which suggests that the new SUV might go on sale in the market in the second quarter of 2015.

Claimed to be the safest, most economical and luxurious SUVs in its league, the all-new Volvo XC90 is based on Volvo’s new design language. It shares most of its styling cues with the Coupe concept. Built on the company’s new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), that will also underpin the future Volvos, the new XC90 features chrome trimmed grille complemented by T-shaped LED daytime running lamps. The flared wheel arches of the car have been fitted to 8-spoke, 21-inch ‘Inscription’ alloy wheels. Inside, the SUV gets new centrally mounted touchscreen, cloud-based navigations system from Ericson, leather and wood trims, leather upholstery for seats, gear level and start button and volume buttons in diamond cut design.

The new XC90 is available in new petrol and diesel engines. All engines belong to the company’s new Drive-E family. The T6 petrol is both turbo - and super-charged engine that is good for 316bhp, while the D5 diesel motor develops 222bhp. . Both engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
