      Indian Roadmaster launched in India at Rs. 37 lakh

      Indian Motorcycle has launched its new motorcycle - the Roadmaster - in the Indian market. Polaris Industries revived the retro 2-wheeler company to counter the growing Harley-Davidson. The company is introducing new models to offer more retro looking motorcycles in the country. The Indian Roadmaster is priced at Rs. 37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the deliveries are expected to commence in the second half of 2015.

      Available in three exciting shades- red, ivory cream and black, the Indian Roadmaster is claimed to “reflect pure American Luxury”. The retro motorcycle is equipped with several features including push-button start/stop, all LED lights, heated seats, heated grips, remote locking saddlebags, power windshield and adjustable floorboards, etc. The trunk offers 64.4-litres of space, while the bags can store up to 65.1-litres. The touring bike features a horizontal power windshield that can be adjusted via push of a button. The 37 gallons of storage, which is weatherproof that can be locked with a remote locker.

      The Indian Roadmaster is powered by a 1.8-litre Thunder Stroke engine that churns out a peak torque output of 138.9Nm, while it weighs just 421kgs. Other than Chief models, the company is also selling the Scout in the country which is priced at Rs. 11.99 lakh. The company has only single dealership in the country; however, Indian is planning to add two new outlets in near future.
