Mahindra's Thar has been a rugged off-road offering from the Indian automaker. If reports are to be believed, the vehicle is likely to be launched sometime by the mid of this year. As seen in the spy shots the exterior of the vehicle seemed to receive a fresh dose of plastic and metal combined bumpers. The side steps are bigger, whereas the top end CRDe trim is likely to also receive fender extensions. As seen in spy shots the vehicle seems to carry a tilted rear canopy section.
The company has not spoken on technical changes for the vehicle yet, but it is believed that the vehicle may continue to be powered by 2.5 Liter DI unit that is capable of generating about 63 Hp of power with 182.5 Nm of torque. Whereas, the CRDe trim is likely to get a powerful trim of 2.5 Liter that generates about 105 hp of power with 247 Nm of torque. The upcoming trim shall continue to be mated to 5 speed manual transmission, and shall be available in 2 Wheel Drive as well as 4 Wheel Drive options.
