Japanese sportsbike manufacturer, Kawasaki is aiming to expand its product lineup in the Indian market. If media reports are to be believed, the company is gearing up to launch the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 adventure tourer in the country. Few dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the tourer.
Unveiled at the INTERMOT 2014 in September this year, the 2015 Versys 1000 is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2015 in India. The vehicle is likely to be priced around Rs. 12-13 lakh. The new Versys 1000 is equipped with restyled front fascia that accommodates dual headlamps. The company has also offered an improved aerodynamics and wind protection. The bike also gets 17-inch alloys, while the suspension system has been improved to offer better riding experience.
The new Versys 1000 also gets reinforced twin-tube aluminium chassis, adding to its load carrying capacity. The vehicle is also equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System, Traction Control, Power mode selection, clean-mount one key pannier system, etc.
It is powered by a 1,043cc inline 4-pot liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 120PS and a peak torque of 102Nm. This engine is coupled to a six-speed transmission.
