      Yamaha India reports 53 per cent increase in sales during September 2013

      Yamaha Motor India Sales Private Limited has reported a growth of 53 per cent in its domestic sales in the month of September 2013, in comparison to the same period last year. Reportedly, the company delivered 46,790 units during the month, under the review of 30,638 cars delivered in September 2013 in the Indian auto market. Expressing his delight on the brilliant sales performance, the Vice President of Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, Roy Kurian was quoted as saying, “The scooter segment has really caught on and is expected to be the growth driver for the two wheeler industry. This makes us quite confident about continuing our growth story in the coming months as well.”

      Considering the exports of the company, in September 2013, Yamaha India shipped 13,241 units as against to 11,597 units in the corresponding period of 2012, registering a growth of 14.2 per cent. The overall sales of the company marked a growth of 42 per cent with the sales of 60,031 units as compared to 42,235 units delivered in the year ago period. According to the figures revealed by an official statement, the auto maker achieved an average growth rate of 35 per cent in the last nine months, which seems quite overwhelming to auto analysts.

      It must be noted that the auto maker continues to register steady growth after marking its presence in the scooter segment. Industry experts are of a view that with the launch of Ray and Ray Z, Yamaha made a successful foray in the scooter segment. Also, with its foray in the new space, the company has reported brilliant sales figures, which will further help it in achieving the yearly targets, amid overall market slowdown.
