BMW group has unveiled a fresh car for its drifting enthusiasts. Currently the car is undergoing some crucial road test as a program in the BMW Technik division in Munich, Germany. The car named M235i coupe was unveiled at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the sidelines of the upcoming 2014 Consumer Electronics show event. It is also said that vital global worthiness laws shall decide if the technology can be introduced in regular production cars.

Technologically, it is said that, BMW’s latest autonomous driving-assistant system shall actively take part in the driving process. It shall also operate the accelerator, handle steering and use brakes without requiring a driver. The car is ideal for people who love sitting back and enjoying the ride, even when the car handles a sharp cornering or indulges in smoke-inducing burnouts. Moreover, the driving-assistant technology induced with 360-degree stereo camera and ultra- sonic radar makes it smart enough to change lanes while overtaking slower vehicles and moves back to the fast lane once the manoeuvre is complete. The technologically sound BMW is capable of providing an update on the optimal line around a race track. Interestingly the car is capable of accelerating hard down straightaway and also handles the corner apexes with perfection.

BMW has been quoted as saying, “It is going to take a combined effort with all key players and definitive juristic changes before the safety benefits of autonomous driving can be realized”. The design for the M235i resembles the existing line of sedans from the BMW family. Also, as per reports it has been said that the car possesses state-of-the-art computer processor that gives out lightning fast response time and GPS technology has been stated to be borrowed from the existing guided-missile systems.

Officials involved with testing have been stating that current road worthiness laws prohibit the mass production of this amazing vehicle. But it is expected that with certain modifications the car may make it to streets. The BMW cars have always been known for quality and perfection, hence it is anticipated that the BMW M235i coupe shall be put up for the taking sometime soon.
