Skoda India have been known for making driver centric cars and there is no doubting that. The Octavia RS was one of the best performance cars ever sold in India. Unfortunately, Skoda has not had a reliable reputation in India considering it’s always criticised after market experience. The same got highlighted with multiple unpleasant experiences surfacing on digital platforms.

The Yeti was launched in 2011 and came across as a unique looking SUV which was ahead of its time. It had an amazing off-roading potential and was offered in two engine options. The 4x2 was powered by an 110PS engine and the 4x4 by a 140PS engine.

With a strong built and premium looks, the Yeti seemed like an SUV which would generate great interest but all of that failed. Firstly, the drab qualities of interiors are by no way engaging for the occupants inside. Secondly, Lack of features in the Yeti make it feel too pricey especially considering the galore of features offered in the more affordable SUVs. Lastly, Skoda’s extremely ambitious pricing which made all ignore the Yeti.

Perhaps this might change this month as the company might take its brand caption Simply Clever more seriously than ever. Going ahead with not launching new models but tweaking them in hope of keeping them fresh in the market, the Yeti too is all set to get its share of changes. These changes will not be drastic for anyone to sit up and take notice.

Revised grille, new lights and alloys are part of the revamp update. Engine options continue to remain same while there might be additional features to make the cabin feel interesting. Lastly, in order to truly revived Yeti’s failed run in India, Skoda needs to price it very competitively. This is in addition to them beefing up the after sales experience. By ensuring all of these the New Yeti might stand a chance to leave a positive impact.
