The Beat hatchback from Chevrolet has been a popular choice in the Indian hatchback segment. The Beat hatchback, known as Spark internationally, was recently spotted in a new look in South Korea. Sources have stated that it shall be launched in international markets sometime later this year. The vehicle is said to be based on the new Opel Karl/Vauxhall Viva platform that shall be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month. For this year, the vehicle may only find presence in US and Korean market.
The company has reportedly been working on the 'Amber platform' for the Indian as well as other emerging markets. The vehicle is likely to be powered by a petrol three-cylinder 1.0 Liter turbocharged engine that is capable of generating a power output of somewhere between 90bhp to 115bhp of power with 166 Nm of peak toque. The vehicle shall be available in automatic as well as manual transmission options. More details about the vehicle may only be known post an official announcement being made by the company in this regard.
