Expressing his opinion on the Gujarat based projects of the company, R. C. Bhargava, Chairman, MSIL, in interaction with few reporters was quoted as saying, “We have land at two locations in Gujarat. The first one is offered by the government and the second one is a private land that is directly acquired by us with some negotiations by the government. The second location is for our future expansion. Once we exhaust the capacity at the first site, we will move to the second one”

Reportedly, the company has confirmed that it anticipates around 6 to 7 per cent increase in its sales figures for the incoming 2013-14 financial year. During the ongoing fiscal 2012-13, MSIL has witnessed a 6 per cent increase in its vehicle sales. Further, the company has refuted any interests or inclination towards entering the premium car segments of the Indian passenger car market.

On being enquired about the company's future at the troubled Manesar unit, Bhargava added, “We are not moving away from Haryana. We have two plants in the state and going to Gujarat after utilising the capacity completely at Gurgaon and Manesar. We will do the same once we exhaust the capacity in Gujarat also.”
