Volkswagen sprang surprise by rolling out special edition of Vento sedan in the domestic market. Dubbed Vento Special edition, the model is being offered with additional features like reverse camera with navigation, sporty alloy wheels, distinctive side door protectors, chrome embellishment on window lines, stylish side door visors and sleek trunk spoiler. Besides the additional features the company is also offering free 1 year insurance and roadside assistance for four years.
Details regarding price of this special edition model are yet to be revealed, however we anticipate a bump in price by Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000. Volkswagen Vento Special Edition is likely to be proffered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version could be powered by a 1.6 litre gasoline engine producing a maximum power output of 103 Bhp along with a top torque of 153 Nm. Diesel variant is likely to be packed with 1.6 litre powertrain engendering a pinnacle power and torque output of 103 Bhp and 250 Nm respectively. Both the motors will be harmonized to a five speed manual transmission.
The German auto maker is also contemplating to bring out Vento sedan with a 1.5 litre diesel powertrain for the domestic market. Company could also equip the same engine in the upcoming 2014 Polo hatchback that could hit the market by second half of 2014.
