The Volkswagen Tiguan has just been spotted in the long wheelbase form yet again. The car is scheduled to appear at the Chengdu Auto Show in September whereas the official launch is scheduled in October.
The prototype caught on test is thinly disguised and as a result, shows off the crisp and clear lines of the LWB model. Looking at the pictures, its apparent that Volkswagen has extended the rear door by a fair bit. The vehicle, in all probability, will have a seven-seat configuration.
As for the all-important launch, the Tiguan LWB will go on sale in China by year-end and will hit production in the US in the first quarter of 2017. VW is likely to call it Tiguan L or Tiguan XL. As for the Indian market, Volkswagen India has confirmed that the regular 5-seater Tiguan will be introduced as a locally assembled vehicle by early next year.
