German car maker Volkswagen unveiled its upcoming sedan model VW Vento for the Indian market. The Vento will be powered by a 1.6-litre 104 bhp petrol with close to 15.5 kgm of peak torque while a 1.6-litre diesel with 104 bhp and nearly 25.3 kgm of peak torque on tap will also be offered. According to Volkswagen, it will be one of the most fuel efficient models in its segment. The model will be available with both manual and automatic transmission and the expected price of the model is Rs. 6.5 to Rs. 10 lakh depending upon the variant.
The car will be commercially available in showrooms from October 2010. The pre-launch booking for the car is likely to start soon. Bookings will be open for both petrol and diesel models.
