The 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show has already seen a number of cars being unveiled. Several car makers, from all over the world, are participating in this event, which has attracted a lot of attention from auto enthusiasts and experts. Czech-based auto maker Skoda has been an active participant at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, showcasing two variants of its Yeti model, one Outdoor edition and one City edition. According to sources, visitors present at the event were quite impressed with the design of the Yeti Outdoor in particular. The Volkswagen Group owned auto maker has made a lot of changes to the design of the Yeti, which makes it look much more stylish. Some of the highlights of the new Yeti are newly designed front and rear, fresh interiors, new alloy wheels, extended engine gear combination and improved functionality. According to reports, the firm is hoping to launch both these variants by the end of 2013.

Chief Executive Officer of Skoda Auto, Prof. Dr. H.C. Winfried Vahland, said, "The Skoda Yeti is one of the most attractive compact SUVs on the market and has far exceeded our sales expectations since its launch four years ago. With this all- new look and being offered for the first time in two variations, we are establishing new benchmarks. We plan to continue our outstanding development in this rapidly growing vehicle class."

Skoda has made efforts to project its new design language in the two variants of the Yeti by adding a number of features. This design includes reinterpreted front and rear sections featuring sharp edges along with new car logo. Both these variants of the Skoda Yeti will come with horizontally accentuated fronts, distinctive grille and redesigned headlights. For the first time, the variants of the Skoda Yeti will come with bi-xenon headlights and integrated LED daytime running headlights. In addition, the rectangular front headlights under the front bumper add to the style quotient of this vehicle.

In terms of engine options, the new variants of the Yeti will be available in four diesel and three petrol options, which will feature turbocharging and direct injection. The lowest variant is powered by a 1.2-litre engine whereas the top variant is equipped with a 2.0-litre TDI unit. Depending on the engine specification, buyers can choose from all-wheel or front-wheel drive systems. Industry experts believe that these models could make their way to India by the end of next year. The rise in the demand for compact Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) might influence Skoda's decision to launch the Yeti in India. Skoda will soon be launching the Octavia in the Indian car market by the end of 2013.
