TVS does not want to leave its footing in the beloved 110cc commuter bike segment in the country. The Indian bike-maker has launched the popular Star City motorcycle in a new avatar. The fresh launched has been rechristened as 'Star City+'. TVS has launched the fresh face in two variants – one being a kick start, whereas the other with an electric starter. The kick start version is priced at about Rs. 42,800, whereas the electric starter version is priced at about Rs. 44,000 (ex-showroom, Pune).
The new Star City+ gets alloy wheels with electric starter as a standard feature. The bike is powered by 109.7cc EcoThrust engine that generates about 8.3PS of power with 8.7 Nm of torque. The fairly powered engine is mated to a four speed gearbox. TVS has claimed an impressive fuel efficiency figure of about 85 kmpl. Moreover, it is said that the bike is capable of attaining speeds of up to 90 km/hr.
Styling of the bike is impressive and looks modern and appealing than its yesteryear's counterpart. The instrument cluster features a neat combination of digital display and analogue speedometer. The handlebars have received a chrome finished handlebar and stainless steel muffler guard. The smart alloys adds a stylish appeal to the neat glossy paint finish of this bike. The seats also sport a dual tone shade to further enhance its overall appeal.
Ride quality has been taken to the next level of comfort with the 5-step adjustable rear shock absorbers. The bike comes with an attractive price tag thereby giving its competitors a run for their money in this segment of commuter motorcycles.
